Prevent Other Users from Deleting Browsing History of Internet Explorer 10 and 11 in Windows 8/8.1
These days misuse of internet technology have increased the risk of criminal activities. Many newbies are trying to find new ways to get their desired things free of cost from internet websites. Bad companies and careless parents are pushing youngsters towards the illegal use of internet and also it increases the risk of spoiling children’s minds. Normally internet browsers are used to access illegal and explicit data, and at the end of the browsing session the history is deleted by the user, by this he/she hides his/her activities.
If you are a father or mother, then it’s essential for you to stop your children by monitoring their activities on web browser. To perform this monitoring activity, you have to check the browsing history, but wait for a minutes; if the history is removed by the son/daughter then what? Because of this issue I have found a way to stop other users from clearing the browsing history in internet explorer 10 and 11 working on any Windows version including Windows 8.1 and 8.
When you’ll done this on your internet explorer, the clear browsing history field will become non click-able and nobody will allowed to clear the history. Also the button of “delete browsing history on exit” wouldn’t work. Almost everyone misusing internet deletes browsing history after completing their browsing lust, so they wouldn’t check the clear history option before browsing; this will make impossible for them to delete the browsing history.
Below are some simple steps to stop other users from deleting the browsing history.
Step 1: Open the local group policy editor by typing “gpedit.msc” in the run dialogue box and hit enter.
Step 2: From the local group policy editor, double-click on “administrative templates” available on the left hand side of the window with a folder icon on its left. Immediately after clicking this option, you’ll see more listed down options and you are required to click on “Windows Components” to open further listed options.
Step 3: Now from the list extracted from Windows components, double-click on internet explorer and click on delete browsing history further.
Step 4: When you’ll click delete browsing history, a list of options will appear on the right hand side of the LGPE, from the list double-click on “Prevent access to Delete Browsing History”.
Step 5: Now a pop-up windows will appear and you are just required to mark the Enabled check-box and you are done.
Tip: In the same way you can also prevent other users from deleting cookies, download history, InPrivate Filtering data, ActiveX Filtering data, Tracking Protection, temporary internet files, favourite site data, form data and saved passwords.
