Pin/unpin Apps in Windows 8.1 Start Screen [Easy Way]
If you view the Start Screen of Windows 8.1, apparently you will find it very similar to the Start screen in its earlier version. On observing it keenly, you will find it upgraded features and apps in it. In Windows 8.1, you would be able to install or uninstall various applications at once.
The apps section basically helps you in viewing all the now installed apps that can be opened at once, but to enter the Apps Section in Windows 8.1 you need to follow a bit long process. First you will go to the start button, then Metro UI appears before you. Now you need to click the down arrow that will take you to your desired Apps Section. You can pin your favourite and the most used apps in the Start screen in Windows 8.1 and it will not take you more than a few minutes. It will save your time and you do not need to go every time to the Apps section to open your desired app.
You just need to follow the simple steps given below to complete the process.
Step 1: To begin, click to the “Start” button that lies to the left corner at the bottom of your screen.
Step 2: Now you will see the Metro UI, i.e. Start Screen. Here you will find a down arrow sign at the bottom of the Start Screen. You need to click this arrow.
Step 3: You will enter Apps section by clicking the arrow. You will find all the installed apps in this section. You should look for your desired app, such as Google Chrome.
Step 4: If you do a right click on Google Chrome, some options will appear at the bottom of your screen. You need to select the option “Pin to Start” as it has been shown in the image below.
Step 5: Once you have done with it, you need to return to the Start Screen in your Windows 8.1 where you will find Google Chrome.
Way to Unpin Apps
Simply right click on any app pinned on start screen of Windows 8.1 and there is an option to unpin it, click on it and thats it.
So, quite easily you have pinned and unpinned your desired app to the Start Screen in Windows 8.1. In the same way you can pin multiple apps to the Start Screen in a few seconds.
