Here is some good news for jailbreak lovers that Pangu has done it, yes they have done it successfully in a very short period of time. Pangu for iOS 7 and 7.1 device is running awesome and I personally enjoy it on my iPhone 4s. I think other jailbreak hackers are late in producing jailbreak for iOS 8 and Pangu’s team again wins the race.

It was looking possible that Pangu will jailbreak iOS 8.0.x and 8.1 successfully because iOS 8’s UI is very similar to iOS 7 and it just looks like an upgrade to iOS 7. There were rumors from past few weeks that some unknown jailbreakers may release iOS 8.0.x/8.1 jailbreak soon and today suddenly the jailbreak is launched by pangu itself.

Moreover, pangu team has pulled back the pangu8 tool from their website suddenly and may be there are some bugs in it, that’s why they removed the download links. But the tool is still hosted on their server, I’ll provide a direct link to that tool.

So let’s start the iOS 8 jailbreak guide here.

Guide to jailbreak iOS 8 devices with Pangu8:

Step 1: Download the latest version of iTunes from here and install it on your PC, currently Pangu8 isn’t available for Mac users, so they have to wait.

Step 2: Backup completely your iOS 8 device before starting the jailbreak process. You can take backup via iTunes, simply connect your iDevice with iTunes and click the “backup now” button.

Step 3: Now it’s time to download the tool, click here to download the Pangu8 tool and run it on your PC.

Step 4: Now it will automatically detect your iOS device and allow your iDevice to communicate with the computer by tapping the “Trust” button on your device.

Note: Turn off your “Find my iPhone” feature from settings’ app and also terminate the passcode lock.

Step 5: Now press the blue button to jailbreak your iDevice and it will start jailbreaking your iDevice.

Step 6: After few minutes your device will be jailbroken and you’ll see a pangu icon on your iOS 8/8.1 device’s screen.

Note 1: You will not have any Cydia icon on your device’s screen, because we are waiting for saurik to update the Cydia for this Pangu8 jailbroken devices, but you can use OpenSSH in your device, that’s available under the pangu’s icon.

Note 2: The jailbreak isn’t fully working currently and may include bugs and errors in it, so use this tool at your own risk.

Note 3: No tweaks, apps and Cydia isn’t compatible with iOS 8/8.1 pangu jailbreak, so you have to wait for few weeks or months to get updated version of these.
