Windows 8.1 gives you ease to receive notifications regarding alarms, received emails and messages, weather and other updates. Sometimes you want to stop receiving these notifications for some specific time. You can do it by following the simple way we are going to discuss here. Usually there are two types of techniques you can follow according to your requirements.

Step 1: Go to the “Charms Bar” where you will find the option “Settings”. Click this option.

Once you select it, there will appear three options, whether you want to hide Notifications for 1 Hour, 3 Hours or 8 Hours. You can select one of them and thus, you would be able to stop receiving Notifications for your required time.

Quick Way to Hide Notifications-2If you want to stop receiving Notifications permanently in some specific hours of the day, you need to use “Quiet Hours” function in Windows 8.1. It is an amazing function by using which you would be able to stop receiving the notifications regarding emails, messages, calendar and weather in some specific hours only. As these hours will over, you will start receiving Notifications automatically. Here is how to use this amazing function in Windows 8.1.

How to Use this Feature?

Step 1: You need to go to the “Charms Bar” and then select “Settings” from the list.

On scrolling the page downward, you will find a category “Quiet Hours” where you need to swap the Quiet Hours on and add the time, whether you want to use this option in which hours of the day or night.

Below the time settings, you will find another option “Receive Calls during Quiet Hours”. If you want to use to receive calls while the Quiet Hours are active, you can swap this option to the “On”. If you do not want to do so, keep it in “Off” mode.
