Remove Pangu iOS 7.1/7.1.1/8x Jailbreak from iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch

By Hammad Rafique / June 27, 2014

In my previous article I taught that how you can jailbreak your iOS 7.1 and 7.1.x device with pangu, but after visiting some forums and websites, I noticed that many are willing to remove this pangu jailbreak because it’s not from reliable sources. Also iOn1c, the real hacker of iOS 7 – 7.0.6’s Evasi0n jailbreak isn’t happy with this pangu jailbreak, because his Chinese students stole the exploit from him; as he has mentioned this on twitter.

Note: This tutorial is equally beneficial for users that have jailbroken their iOS 8x and 8.1 devices with Pangu8 tool.

Remove Pangu Jailbreak

Furthermore, the pangu’s jailbreak is the first jailbreak of its kind that is forcing users to install some third party app on their iDevices during jailbreak process until you un-check the option to install this app. In the history of jailbreak tools, former jailbreaks didn’t ask users to install any third party app except cydia. Also they didn’t reveal the code of this jailbreak, it could be a reason that the hackers are hiding something, this Pangu jailbreak can be a piece of cheese (filled with poison) for rats.

According to PCWorld, the Chinese hackers are using code-signing certificates that aren’t trusted perfectly. Also i0n1c is angry with this jailbreak, because the hackers made his hardwork futile in just few weeks. With this Pangu jailbreak Chinese hackers might have full control of your device and content including pictures, videos, passcode, iCloud and also they can fill your iDevice with malware; as i0n1c said on twitter. Some security companies suspecting that the app coming with Pangu tool may have functionality to control an iOS device remotely, but it’s not confirmed yet.

You can simply remove Pangu’s jailbreak by restoring the latest iOS firmware. This step by step guide will help you to remove Pangu’s jailbreak in just few minutes.

Hi I’ve tried this, and I’ve also tried using the recovery ode but I’m always getting a message error that the restore is not possible.

I’m using iphone 5 ios 7.1.2
Any clues?

I’m not in front of your PC, but I guess it’s jst because of something is missing during the whole process. Try to perform the below said things:

1: Carefully download iOS version supported for your iPhone 5. For iPhone 5 GSM this link: http://appldnld.apple.com/iOS7.1/031-4773.20140627.undN4/iPhone5,1_7.1.2_11D257_Restore.ipsw and for iPhone 5 CDMA use this link: http://appldnld.apple.com/iOS7.1/031-4798.20140627.fpeqS/iPhone5,2_7.1.2_11D257_Restore.ipsw

2: Only use the latest version of iTunes.

3: May be some system files are conflicting with th restoration process, try the same procedure on any other PC.

If you still face the error then let me know the exact error code and I’ll help you accordingly.

Ok so I jail broke my iphone 5s with the newest iOS7 (not 8 yet) with pangu. every time I tried to restore it, it said there was an error. I went into my phone and hit the delete all data and settings button and a spinning circle was on my screen for about 12 hours. i held down the home and off button and its in restore mode, and i keep getting the error when i hit restore on my windows laptop. HELPPP

Thank you for your reply. I only have a Mac. With the new Mavericks. Everything is up to date (iTunes and OS X). I’ve also tried in DFU mode, I have deleted all cydia tweaks I’ve added. I’ve tried using the Ipswich from yous links and from apple directly.

Really don’t know what to do. Maybe find someone with a PC but for instance I don’t know anyone.

You are supposed to edit your host file available in your Windows PC, you can do it via: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZOo-ugveRT0 or with the use of proxy you can bypass the error 3004.

Yes Yash Hastak you can simply install that firmware that’s popping up every time on your iTunes’ screen. It’s the latest version of iOS and iTunes will install it automatically if you allow iTunes to do so.

You can select the relevant iOS as per your concerned iDevice, download links are available for all iOS devices. If you already have the correct iOS 7.1.2 firmware then follow the restoration process from the step 2.

Hi, I did the iOS update to 7.1.2. Everything worked well, Cydia icon wasn’t there anymore and jailbreak app too.

But…When I retried to jailbreak with pangu, it says that my iPhone 4s was already jailbroken. What ?! But Cydia still not there. It is impossible to click on the jailbreak button anymore.

I recommend to anyone that removed Pangu to check with there iPhone if they get the same issue.

Do you know anything about this issue ?

Thx

When you have problem, go to factory setting in iTunes again like new ipad or iphone. later restore all data from iTunes.

i jailbroke my device about 6 months ago and have scowered the blogasphere to figure out how to restore my device to its pre jailbreak condition and functionality and haven’t been able to find any assistance at all. I started posting requests over a month ago and have made at least 15 requests at as many different forums and haven’t received a single response.

I successfully jailbroke my divice, then accidently deleted cydia. This is a company owned divice, and has to be turned back in for mandantory security app upgrades and installations. I have been stalling to try to find a way to restore it. if they find i have jailbroken it it could mena my job. I have tried connecting it to itunes and doing the DFU restore, and all simular methods, going through device menue to restore to factory defaults, reinstalling the pangu jailbreak then restoreing. none of it works. the device is still fully functional as of its state at the time of jailbreak, but no apps can be installed or upgraded, and the ios over air upgrade cant be done. can someone please instruct some method that might work. Im desperate and running out of time.

PLEASE HELP!!!
