In Windows 7, the users are able to add their email account into “MS Outlook Express” and can receive their emails without opening their mail boxes in internet explorer. Microsoft has given a new touch to its latest update and enabled the users to add their email accounts in an app known as “Mail” in Windows 8.1. The users can use this app for receiving and sending them emails.
This app allows the users to add not only Gmail account, but also Yahoo, IMAP and Exchange Activesync (EAS) to receive and send their emails direct from the “Metro UI App” instead of signing in their accounts separately every time. Here you will find the process of adding “Gmail ID” to the Mail app that lies at the “Start Screen” in Windows 8.1. You will find it quite easy and short process and it will not take much of your precious time. So, let’s start the process.
Steps to add more accounts to Windows 8.1 Mail App
Step 1: When you click the Start Screen, you will see “Mail” app in it. You just need to click on it that will launch it.
Step 2: It will show you the Mail windows where you need to move the pointer of your mouse to the extreme right corner at the bottom of the window. It will show you the Charms bar where you have to select the “Settings” option.
Step 3: Once you select it, you will see some options appearing on the screen in the upper corner. You will see the “Accounts” option on them. Click on it.
Step 4: Now you will see the “Accounts” menu where you need to select the option “Add an account” Here you have to select Google as you want to add Gmail Account as it has been shown in the image below. (If you want to add Yahoo or any other account, you can add it too by following the same process).
Step 5: Finally, a window appears on your screen where you have to give your Gmail ID and the password you use to login to your Gmail ID.
It will take you to your email box after a processing of a few seconds.
